Planetary Hours:
Part Four
In the preceding three articles, I described the origin of Planetary
Hours and the method of their calculation. Specific examples of
the duration of these Hours at various times of the year were also
presented. Insights to the interpretation of Saturn, Jupiter, Mars,
and Sun Hours were also given. In this, the final article of the
series, I shall cover the remaining three Planetary Hours (Venus,
Mercury, and Moon) and I shall describe how I use all seven Planetary
Hours in my personal and professional life.
Venus Hour
As I stated earlier in this series, the clue to the use of any
specific Planetary Hour lies in the nature of the planet itself.
You know the nature of Venus. Venus is the planet of love, beauty,
harmony, and all things peaceful. Everything goes better in a Venus
Hour .... unless the transiting Venus is in retrograde motion. Venus
Hours are excellent for all loving encounters, for asking a favor,
for starting a trip, for starting a creative project (painting,
gardening, sewing), and for beauty parlor appointments. Try to schedule
your next wedding for a Venus Hour.
When transiting Venus is Retrograde or heavily afflicted in the
sky, watch out! Do not count on the beneficence of Venus at those
times. The Venus Hour will carry the negatives associated with the
transiting Venus.
Mercury Hour
Mercury is the planet of communication. Unless transiting Mercury
is in retrograde motion, you can use Mercury Hours to initiate all
forms of communication, such as correspondence, telephoning, writing,
short trips, teaching classes, and dealing with children.
When transiting Mercury is Retrograde or heavily afflicted in the
sky, beware of using Mercury Hours. Do not count on the benign attributes
of Mercury at those times. The Mercury Hour will carry the negatives
associated with the transiting Mercury. If transiting Mercury is
Retrograde, then all of the Mercury activities described above are
jeopardized anyway, and you should not be starting them at this
time.
Moon Hour
Check to see if the Moon is Void of Course or afflicted in the sky
before you try to successfully use a Moon Hour. If the transiting
Moon is in good condition, then the positive characteristics of
the Moon can translate into the Moon Hour. The Moon Hour is good
for all public affairs, for dealing with women, the public, or your
mother. Think of the Moon, the sign Cancer, and the fourth house
characteristics of the Moon Hour. Home affairs, family matters,
and cooking are well attended to during Moon Hours. If the Moon
is Void of Course, do not expect a Moon Hour to work for you.
How do I personally use the Planetary Hours? I have some flexibility
in the time I get out of bed, so I try to avoid setting my alarm
clock to awaken me during a Saturn Hour. I will choose to get up
earlier, and greet the day during a Moon Hour. (Actually, I would
prefer to get up later.) I carefully plan to start all major trips
during a Venus or Jupiter Hour, even if it means leaving home earlier
than necessary. When scheduling appointments with clients, I try
to avoid beginning during a Mars or Saturn Hour. I avoid shopping
during a Saturn Hour, because I have found that when I leave home
during a Saturn Hour, I find it difficult to locate a parking spot,
and find it equally as difficult to locate the items I am seeking.
Recently, I have been discovering that certain clients, who work
in a structured business environment, report that a certain day
of the week has recently been difficult for them. They are due at
work at a specific time, and their alarm clocks are set for the
same time every day. I look for the Planetary Hour during which
they arise on that troublesome day of the week, and suggest that
they arise at a different time. With seasonal variations, and the
advent of daylight?saving time, any inconvenience of a change will
be temporary.
Once I became interested in Planetary Hours, I started collecting
anecdotes from colleagues, friends, and clients about their experiences.
One friend told me that if he goes to sleep during a Venus or Jupiter
Hour, he has wonderful dreams. His experience is not so pleasant
if he goes to sleep during a Mars or Saturn Hour. Another person
has told me that if he is telephoning someone and gets a busy signal,
he keeps getting the busy signal until the Planetary Hour changes
... and then the line is clear. Try it.
I have been advised by one friend that if she awakens during a
Moon Hour, she finds herself eating all day. There is a lady in
San Diego who has told me that if she orders a pizza during a Jupiter
Hour, it is delivered with far more pepperoni than she expected;
if she orders during a Saturn Hour, it arrives with far less pepperoni;
if she orders during a Mars Hour, the pizza is over?baked and dry.
She is always satisfied if she orders her pizza during a Venus or
Moon Hour. My advice? Be forewarned!
Planetary Hours is an astrological tool which should no longer
be ignored or cast aside as too cumbersome or too difficult to use
in day?to?day applications. Try them. Use them. I am sure that the
proper use of Planetary Hours will enhance your life.
